Kovalyov Roman

Kovalyov Roman, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor, Deputy Head of the Department of Spacecraft at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Head of the Centre for Heat Transfer and Aerogasdynamics at the Central Research Institute of Machine Building.

On 22 June 2020, he was sentenced to seven years in a strict regime colony under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (‘High Treason’).

He had been in custody since 5 June 2019 and was released on 13 April 2022 due to his health condition (stage IV cancer). He died on 27 April 2022.
