Magomedov Khiramagomed Gadzhievich, born January 31, 1985, lived in Makhachkala, has an incomplete higher education in economics, one of the leaders of the public organisation "Union of the Just".
Sentenced to 9 years in a strict regime penal colony under Part 2 of Article 282.2 ("Participation in the activities of a public or religious association or other organisation in respect of which a court has made a decision that has entered into legal force to liquidate or prohibit activities in connection with the implementation of extremist activities"), Part 2 of Article 205.5 ("Participation in the activities of an organisation that is recognised as terrorist in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation"), Part 1 of Article. 205.1 ("Inducement, recruitment or other involvement of a person in the commission of at least one of the crimes provided for in Articles 205, 206, 208, 211, 277, 278, 279 and 360 of the Russian Criminal Code"); Part 1 of Article 30, Article 278 ("Preparation for the violent seizure of power"), Part 1 of Article 222 ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of firearms, their main parts, ammunition") of the Russian Criminal Code in membership in the banned organisation "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami", even though according to the investigation, he did not participate in violent actions.
He has been in custody since February 25, 2016, released at the end of 2024. He was recognised as a political prisoner because the criminal prosecution is being carried out on charges of an offense that did not occur, with a violation of the right to a fair trial and the use of detention that is disproportionate to the alleged act.
