Zaynullin Ruslan Aleksandrovich, born July 6, 1990, lived in Ufa, is married, has two young children, has secondary education, and is a washing machine repairman.

In 2012, he was convicted under Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code to 1 year and 4 months of suspended imprisonment; this sentence was related to his participation in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir. Sentenced under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation") to 15 years in a strict regime penal colony.

In custody since February 9, 2017.
