Formal complaints have also been lodged with the regional directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service. Under Russian statute, prison authorities are under a strict legal obligation to act the moment a detainee\u2019s life or physical integrity is threatened by fellow inmates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Liudmila Razumova is currently held in a cell with two other women, one of whom is said to be engaged in a campaign of calculated provocation. The atmosphere is described as volatile. According to reports, the cellmate has planted cockroaches in Liudmila Razumova\u2019s personal effects and food: a move believed to be a deliberate attempt to exert psychological pressure on the artist, who suffers from a severe phobia of the insects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The situation has reportedly progressed beyond psychological intimidation to explicit threats of physical harm. Liudmila Razumova contends that these provocations are a calculated effort to draw her into a violent confrontation. This prolonged period of stress has triggered a severe decline in her physical well-being. Liudmila Razumova is suffering from persistent high blood pressure and has endured several hypertensive crises. She has expressed grave concern that her current medication is failing to manage the condition, leaving her at risk of a stroke. Although a suspected diagnosis of scurvy was eventually ruled out, clinical tests confirmed a significant vitamin deficiency. In response, her supporters have provided emergency food supplies and vitamins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the coming days, Liudmila Razumova is expected to be moved to a psychiatric facility in Burashovo for a court-ordered evaluation. This move follows a new criminal investigation launched in April 2025, in which she faces charges of causing minor bodily harm. The case involves an incident at a prison hospital where Liudmila Razumova claims she acted in self-defence. She alleges that after being attacked, she used hot water to repel her assailant, before being beaten and nearly strangled with an electric cord until she lost consciousness. Liudmila Razumova has been in custody since March 2022, when she was arrested alongside her former husband for their social media activity and anti-war graffiti. In March 2023, she was handed a seven-year sentence in a general-regime penal colony.
