Alakaev Evgeny Aleksandrovich

Alakaev Evgeny Aleksandrovich, born May 6, 1989, resident of Moscow, citizen of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian, Catholic, lived and did his military service in Yekaterinburg before his arrest. He graduated from the law and history faculties of Moscow State University, as well as the Military University and postgraduate studies (military equivalent of graduate school) of the Military University in Moscow, specialising in sociology. Author of scientific papers, member of the Russian Association of Classical Scholars. Contract serviceman, military rank — major, deputy commander of the training motorised rifle battalion for military-political work.

On June 24, 2025, he was sentenced to 18 years in a maximum security penal colony with the first 5 years to be served in prison under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 283.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition of information constituting a state secret, by deception, associated with its dissemination") and Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason, that is, espionage and disclosure to a representative of a foreign state of information constituting a state secret that became known to him in the course of his service, committed by a citizen of the Russian Federation").

Deprived of liberty, probably since October 4, 2023, officially detained on November 8, 2023.
