Antyukhin Aleksei Stanislavovich, born on 1 May 1976, lived in Voronezh, and worked as an electric and gas welder. He is accused of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘Organisation of the activities of a religious organisation in respect of which a decision has been taken to liquidate it in connection with extremist activity’) in connection with his membership in the Jehovah’s Witnesses community, which is banned in Russia. He was held in custody from 13 July 2020. On 2 December 2020, he was released under a ban on certain actions.
