Maksim Arinushkin was born on 5 December 1995 in the city of Podolsk, Moscow Oblast. He is a former member of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya).

He was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 30 and Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code ('Attempted high treason') and Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 1 of Article 322 for allegedly attempting to join the 'Freedom of Russia Legion'.
