Асанов Марлен Рифатович родился 2 марта 1977 года, жил в г. Бахчисарае в Крыму. Активист крымско-татарского движения «Крымская солидарность». Получил высшее филологическое образование, имеет четверых малолетних детей, женат, предприниматель. Приговорён к 19 годам колонии строгого режима по ч. 1 ст. 205.5 («Организация деятельности террористической организации»), ч. 1 ст. 30 и ст. 278 УК РФ («Приготовление к насильственному захвату власти»). Под стражей с 11 октября 2017 года.
