On April 21, 2023, he was sentenced to 1.5 years in a general regime penal colony on charges of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintain international peace and security, including public calls to impede the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for the said purposes, as well as aimed at discrediting the exercise by state bodies of the Russian Federation of their powers outside the territory of the Russian Federation for the said purposes, committed by a person after he was brought to administrative responsibility for a similar act within one year”). On June 15, 2023, the appellate court upheld the sentence.
