Vadym Bezuhlyi is a citizen of Ukraine, a senior soldier, and a serviceman of the 12th Azov Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was taken prisoner in Mariupol on 20 May 2022. On 29 July 2022, he was held in the penal colony in Olenivka, Donetsk region, where he was wounded.

On 12 December 2025, Bezuhlyi’s case was referred to the Southern District Military Court. On 4 March 2026, Judge Denis Galkin found Bezuhlyi guilty under the articles on undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activity and participation in a terrorist community and sentenced him to a term of imprisonment that has not been disclosed.
