Tsyhypa Serhiy Vitaliyovych, born August 10, 1961 in Kharkiv, lived in the city of Novaya Kakhovka, Kherson region of Ukraine. Citizen of Ukraine. Pensioner, reserve major, previously served in the KGB of the USSR, SBU, Armed Forces of Ukraine, deputy of the Novaya Kakhovka City Council of three convocations, writer, journalist. On October 6, 2023, he was sentenced by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea under Art. 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Espionage") to 13 years in prison.
According to witness testimony, he has been de facto deprived of liberty since March 12, 2022 (he was held without formal status in pre-trial detention centers No. 1 and No. 2 in Simferopol); legally, the deprivation of liberty was formalized since December 27, 2022, when he was formally taken into custody.
