Dautov Rifat Fuatovich

Dautov Rifat Fuatovich was born on 11 January 1987. A resident of the Republic of Bashkortostan, he worked in the gas industry in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District on a rotational basis.

He was accused or suspected of committing a crime under part 2 of article 212 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘Participation in mass riots’, punishable by up to 8 years' imprisonment) as part of the “Baymak case”, and was put on the wanted list (text in Russian) on 22 January 2024.

He was detained on 25 January 2024, on the night of 25-26 January 2024 he died during his transfer, apparently after torture (text in Russian).
