Khetag Dzhanayev, a Jehovah's Witness from Vladikavkaz, was detained on 10 July 2026. On the same day, security officers carried out a series of searches at the homes of local Jehovah's Witnesses and questioned 16 people.
On 12 July, the court placed the believer under house arrest in connection with a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code ('Organising the activities of an extremist organisation').
