Galiullin Rinat Fayzullovich, born June 25, 1978, member of the banned organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, who, even according to the investigation, did not take part in violent actions.

He was convicted under Part 1 of Article 205.1 ("Incitement and other involvement of persons in the commission of a crime provided for in Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation"), Part 1 of Article 30, Article 278 ("Preparation for actions aimed at the violent seizure of power, as well as the violent change of the constitutional order"), Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organisation of the activities of an extremist organisation") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation to 5 years of imprisonment in a strict regime penal colony.

In custody since July 31, 2012.

On July 28, 2017, the day his sentence ended, he was arrested on charges of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation") in connection with the fact that, while in prison, he allegedly held "collective and individual conversations" with prisoners and tried to involve them in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir. On August 17, 2018, he was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony. Estimated release date: July 25, 2025.
