Gobozev Sergei Borisovich, born on October 10, 1957, lives in the city of Votkinsk, the Udmurt Republic, pensioner.

On March 25, 2024, on charges of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organisation of the activities of an extremist organisation") in connection with membership in a community of Jehovah's Witnesses banned in Russia, he was sentenced to a fine of 450 thousand rubles (~€5000). On June 18, 2024, the appellate court upheld the sentence. On October 17, 2024, the cassation court sent the case back for a new trial. On December 17, 2024, the court in a second appeal toughened the sentence and replaced the fine with 6 years in a general regime penal colony.

He was detained on January 21, 2021, and was under house arrest from January 23 to May 18, 2021, when the Industrial District Court of Izhevsk chose a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions. On December 17, 2024, he was re-arrested.
