Ishchenko Oleksandr Oleksandrovych

Ishchenko Oleksandr Oleksandrovych, born on 13 June 1969, Ukrainian citizen, married. Since 25 February 2022, he voluntarily joined the territorial defence of the special purpose regiment ‘Azov’ as a military driver, and until 26 March 2022 he was guarding and defending its combat positions.

He was charged under part 4 of Art. 35, Art. 278 (‘Actions aimed at forcible seizure of power and forcible change of the constitutional order of the Russian Federation committed by a criminal organisation’, punishable by up to 20 years‘ imprisonment), Part 2 Art. 205.5 (’Participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation‘, punishable by up to 20 years’ imprisonment) of the Russian Criminal Code.

Deprived of liberty since 4 April 2022. On 31 July 2024 it became known that Oleksander died in the pre-trial detention centre.
