Kagarlitsky Boris Yulievich

Kagarlitsky Boris Yulievich, born August 29, 1958, lives in Moscow, sociologist, publicist, video blogger, left-wing politician, editor-in-chief of the online media outlet Rabkor. On December 12, 2023, he was sentenced to a fine of 600 thousand roubles (~€6500) under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public justification of terrorism using the Internet", liable to up to 7 years in prison). The appellate court replaced the fine with 5 years in a general regime penal colony.

Deprived of liberty from July 25 to December 12, 2023, and re-arrested in the courtroom on February 13, 2024 after the appeal.
