Karamurzaiev Eldar, a Crimean Tatar, has a disability. On December 15, 2025, he was sentenced to eight years in a strict-regime penal colony under Part 2 of Article 208 of the Russian Criminal Code (“Participation on the territory of a foreign state in an armed formation not provided for by the legislation of that state, for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation”). According to the prosecution, he took part in the activities of the Noman Çelebicihan Battalion. He has been deprived of liberty since approximately February 2025.
