Kotov Andrey Evgenyevich, born on 21 July 1976, resident of Moscow, director of the travel company ‘Men Travel’.

He was charged under Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘Organisation of activities of an extremist organisation and participation in it’, with a maximum of 10 and 6 years in prison respectively) because of organising tours for LGBTQ people. The media reported that he was also allegedly charged with an offence under an unknown part of Article 242.2 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘Production and circulation of materials or objects with pornographic images of minors’, with a maximum of 10 years' imprisonment); we cannot confirm or deny this information.

He was in custody from 2 to 29 December 2024, when he allegedly committed suicide.
