Oleksandr Kucheriavenko is a citizen of Ukraine and a serviceman of the 12th Azov Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was reportedly taken prisoner in Mariupol on 17 May 2022.

On 29 October 2024, Kucheriavenko’s case was referred to the Southern District Military Court. On 22 November 2024, Judge Andrei Minashkin found him guilty under the articles on undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activity and participation in a terrorist community and sentenced him to 19 years’ imprisonment. The verdict was not appealed.
