Kudryavtsev Viktor Viktorovich was born on 19 October 1943. He was a resident of the city of Korolyov, Moscow Oblast. He had a higher education, PhD in Technical Sciences, leading researcher at the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering. Viktor was married.

Charged under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘High Treason’, with a maximum of 20 years' imprisonment).

A few minutes after the start of one of the hearings in Kudryavtsev's case, he felt heart pains. His health subsequently deteriorated, but despite the ECHR's demands that he be provided with adequate medical treatment, Kudryavtsev was left in pre-trial detention.

He was in custody since 20 July 2018, released on a personal recognisance (an obligation not to leave) on 27 September 2019. On 29 April 2021 he died.
