Alexander Nikolayevich Lubin was born on 26 May 1956, lived in Shchadrinsk, Kurgan Oblast. He was a disabled person of the II group disability.

On 7 October 2024 he was sentenced to a fine of 500,000 roubles (~€4730) on charges of committing an offence under part 1 of article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Organisation of activities of an extremist organisation") in connection with membership of a community of Jehovah's Witnesses banned in Russia.

He was in custody from 14 July to 28 August 2021, when he was placed under a ban on certain actions. On 11 November 2024, a month after the sentence, he died in intensive care, probably as a result of not receiving the necessary treatment.
