Maksym Liutyi is a citizen of Ukraine and a serviceman of the Azov Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was reportedly taken prisoner in Mariupol on 5 May 2022.
On 16 January 2026, Liutyi's case was referred to the Central District Military Court. On 5 February 2026, Judge Andrei Slepukhin found Liutyi guilty under the articles on participation in a terrorist community and undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activity and sentenced him to a term of imprisonment that has not been disclosed.
