Mariin Sergei Trofimovich, born November 10, 1955, citizen of Russia, resident of Saransk, human rights activist, defended the rights of prisoners.

On March 25, 2025, he was sentenced under Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, committed by a person after he was brought to administrative responsibility for a similar act within one year”) to 1 year of imprisonment in a penal colony.

Deprived of liberty after the sentence came into force on June 5, 2025.
