Melnikov Yegor Vladimirovich, born on August 15, 2006, is a resident of Dolgoprudny, Moscow Oblast, and a citizen of the Russian Federation. He was a student at the College of Telecommunications of the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics but was expelled after his arrest. On February 18, 2025, he was convicted under Paragraph “a,” Part 2, Article 281 of the Russian Criminal Code (“Sabotage, namely arson aimed at damaging transport infrastructure facilities with the purpose of undermining the economic security and defense capability of the Russian Federation, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy”) and sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment in a general-regime correctional colony. He has been deprived of liberty since January 23, 2024.
