Merochenets Oleksandr Oleksandrovych

Merochenets Oleksandr Oleksandrovych, born January 15, 1999, citizen of Ukraine, served from 2018 to March 25, 2022 in the Azov special forces regiment as a grenade launcher squad commander with the military rank of junior sergeant.

He was accused under Part 4 of Art. 35, Art. 278 ("Commission by a criminal organisation of actions aimed at the violent seizure of power and violent change of the constitutional order of the Russian Federation", liable to up to 20 years in prison), Part 2 of Art. 205.5 ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation", liable to up to 20 years in prison), Art. 205.3 ("Undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities", liable to up to life imprisonment) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Deprived of liberty since April 13, 2022.
