Under Part 1 of Article 205.5 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Organising activities of a terrorist organisation") and Part 1 of Article 30, Article 278 ("Preparation for the violent seizure of power"), he was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment in a strict regime penal colony with restriction of freedom for 1 year and 6 months after release.
