Under Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Russian Armed Forces for the purpose of protecting the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintaining international peace and security, committed by a person after he has been brought to administrative responsibility for a similar act within one year”) and paragraph “d” of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Russian Armed Forces motivated by political hatred towards a social group”), he was sentenced to 6 years in a general regime penal colony.
