On August 4, 2023, he was sentenced by the Yoshkar-Ola City Court under subparagraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Public dissemination, under the guise of reliable news, of knowingly false information containing data on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens motivated by political hatred") to 5 years and 6 months' imprisonment.
