On charges of membership in the banned organisation "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami", which, even according to the investigation, did not participate in violent actions, was sentenced to 14 years in a strict regime penal colony with the first 3.5 years to be served in prison and to a restriction of freedom for 1 year upon release under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation") and Part 1 of Article 30 in conjunction with Article 278 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Preparation for the violent seizure of power").
