Volodymyr Shylo is a Ukrainian citizen and was a resident of Vasylivka District, Zaporizhzhia Region. In September 2023, after the occupation, he acquired Russian citizenship.
According to the prosecution, from September 2023 to November 2024, he made around 30 money transfers totalling 36,170.42 hryvnias, equivalent to 85,240.72 roubles, to accounts linked to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Shylo was charged with high treason against Russia. The court sentenced him to 15 years' imprisonment in a maximum-security penal colony.
