Minh Hoang Tran is a native of Prague and a citizen of the Czech Republic and Vietnam. He went to Ukraine in May 2025, motivated by the selfless desire to provide international assistance. He served as a machine gunner in the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In August 2025, he was captured with wounds to his face and neck near the village of Krasny Liman. The court sentenced him to 13 years on charges of mercenarism.
