Ursu Viktor Aleksandrovich was born on June 24, 1965, and lives in Dzhankoy, Crimea. On September 8, 2025, under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code (organization of the activities of an extremist organization), in connection with his membership in the community of Jehovah’s Witnesses, which is banned in Russia, he was sentenced to 6 years in a general-regime penal colony.

He was detained on July 28, 2023, and placed under house arrest on August 9, 2023. In August 2024, he was released under a travel restriction agreement. He was taken into custody after the verdict was announced on September 8, 2025.
