Vechirko Aleksandr Anatolievich, born on December 31, 1968, in Ukraine, is a Russian citizen who lived in the settlement of Zavety Ilyicha in the Sovetskaya Gavan district of Khabarovsk Krai. He was an employe of the company Daltransugol and a reserve lieutenant colonel. On March 10, 2025, he was convicted under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (“High treason — providing financial assistance to a foreign state in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation”) and sentenced to 13 years in a strict-regime penal colony, followed by 1 year and 6 months of restriction of freedom, and a fine of 300,000 rubles. He has been deprived of liberty since May 2023.
