Voishchev Nikolai Pavlovich, born September 28, 1955, lives in Maykop. On charges of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organizing the activities of an extremist organisation") in connection with membership in a community of Jehovah's Witnesses banned in Russia, he was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony with restriction of freedom for 1 year and deprivation of the right to engage in educational activities, as well as activities related to the leadership of and participation in religious, public associations and organisations, for 4 years.
He was in custody since October 20, 2022. He was released on April 28, 2025.
He died on February 28, 2026, due to the progression of an oncological disease. As reported, he did not receive the necessary medical care while in custody.
