Yatsenko Sergei

Yatsenko Sergei, 46 years old at the time of his death, lived in Blagoveshchensk, Amur Oblast, entrepreneur.

He was charged under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘High Treason’, with a maximum of life imprisonment) for allegedly passing classified information on Russian nuclear weapons to the PRC intelligence services; he pleaded not guilty; in 2011 he was tried under Article 188 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘Smuggling’).

He was imprisoned from 15 February to 8 November 2023, when, according to the official version, but disputed by his relatives, he committed suicide.
