Zakaryan Vardan Pegatosovich, born June 12, 1971, lives in Moscow, tailor. On charges of committing a crime under Part 1.1 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Involvement in the activities of an extremist organisation") in connection with membership in a community of Jehovah's Witnesses banned in Russia, he was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony.
He was detained on November 24, 2020, and was under house arrest since November 27, 2020. He was taken into custody on March 31, 2023.
On October 13, 2025, he was released after serving his sentence. By court decision, he is to be deported to Armenia.
