Zaripov Zakhar Vladimirovich, born March 9, 1984, resident of Sovetskaya Gavan, Khabarovsk Krai, teacher of mathematics and computer science, who worked, among other places, in correctional institutions. He is also a writer, father of a minor daughter, while his wife is pregnant with their second child.
He was sentenced to 5 years in a general regime penal colony on charges of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activity using the Internet", liable to up to 7 years in prison). On 26 November 2024, the court changed the sentence on appeal and imposed a fine of 650 thousand rubles. Taking into account the time spent in pre-trial detention centre, the amount of the fine was reduced to 350 thousand roubles (~€3800).
He has been in custody since January 25, 2023,currently released.
