Zarovnyaev Roman Vyacheslavovich

Roman Vyacheslavovich Zarovnyaev, born March 15, 1993, lived in Kachkanar, Sverdlovsk Oblast. He was charged under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code ("A terrorist act committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy," punishable by up to 20 years' imprisonment) and Part 1 of Article 30 and Part 2 of Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Preparation for a terrorist act committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy," punishable by up to 10 years' imprisonment) for setting fire to battery and relay boxes on the Kachkanar-Nizhny Tagil-Yekaterinburg highway on April 30, 2023. He was taken into custody in May 2023 and died in pretrial detention no later than August 2024.
