A 35-year-old St. Petersburg resident, Yegor Gulyaev, has been placed in custody in a case concerning alleged military fakes

It became known that on 7 November, a court in St. Petersburg ordered pre-trial detention as a preventive measure for Yegor Gulyaev, who is accused under three episodes of the article on the public dissemination of ‘fakes’ about the Russian Armed Forces motivated by hatred (paragraph ‘d’, part 2, article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code). This was reported by MR7.RU.

According to the prosecution, the man ‘repeatedly posted on a social network, in open public access, information containing knowingly false claims about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.’

Gulyayev has admitted guilt.

We consider Yegor Gulyaev and others imprisoned under Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code to be political prisoners.
