Send 27 essential care packages to political prisoners

We are raising €2,183 to provide 27 essential care packages for political prisoners held in Russian prisons and pre-trial detention centres.

Political prisoners in Russia are often deprived of access to adequate food, medicine and other basic necessities. For many, support from outside is the only way to receive essential items that help protect their health and dignity.

As the Russian authorities continue to dismantle independent civil society and target human rights organisations, fewer groups remain able to provide humanitarian assistance. Despite the growing risks, political prisoners and their families continue to seek our support because there are very few alternatives.

The 27 care packages we are preparing may include:

• essential medicines;
• hygiene products;
• food;
• medically required dietary food;
• clothing and other everyday necessities.

Several of these packages will be sent to Ukrainians imprisoned in Russia. Many have been cut off from their families, and requests for assistance often reach us through their cellmates.

The average cost of preparing and delivering one care package is €80. By contributing to this appeal, you will help ensure that people imprisoned for political reasons receive items essential to their health, well-being and dignity.

Our goal is to raise €2,183 to send 27 care packages to those who urgently need humanitarian support.
