Ataman Roman Ihorovych, born on August 15, 1994, is a native of the village of Podorozhne, Stryi District, Lviv Region. He lived in Mariupol and served as a senior sergeant in the Azov Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.

On September 22, 2025, he was convicted under Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Russian Criminal Code (“Participation in a terrorist community”) and Article 205.3 of the Russian Criminal Code (“Undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities”) and sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment. He was reportedly taken prisoner in approximately February 2023.
