Oleksii Yermak is a citizen of Ukraine and a senior driver in the Azov Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. He is currently held in captivity.
On 17 September 2025, Yermak was added to Rosfinmonitoring's register of extremists and terrorists.
On 6 February 2026, Yermak's case was referred to the Southern District Military Court. On 6 March 2026, Judge Nikolai Vasilchuk found Yermak guilty under Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Russian Criminal Code ('Participation in a terrorist community') and sentenced him to an undisclosed term of imprisonment.
