Yekaterina Korchagina is a native of Ukraine and a Russian citizen. She lived in Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Oblast, until 2022, after which she moved to Moscow to live with her parents. She worked as an electrolysis specialist. According to the prosecution, in June 2023, Korchagina posted on Instagram about raising money for a drone for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, leading to her being charged with publicly calling for activities against state security.
