Aleksandr Levchishin worked as a programmer at a hospital in Bratsk, Irkutsk Oblast. He was detained on July 26, 2023, placed under administrative arrest, and then in pretrial detention. Levchishin was initially charged with influencing Russia's critical information infrastructure for copying information from an official electronic database and sending it via Telegram about two Russian military personnel allegedly involved in crimes in Bucha, Ukraine. These same actions were later classified as treason in the form of espionage. Levchishin was also charged with treason in the form of financial assistance to a foreign state in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation in exchange for a donation to purchase an ambulance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The court sentenced him to 14 years of imprisonment.
