Andrei Malakei, a former employee of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs who had previously worked in Bulgaria and Ukraine, was detained while attempting to fly to Yerevan. After a series of "carousel arrests" on contrived administrative-offense charges, he was charged with terrorism and treason for allegedly joining the Russian Volunteer Corps and intending to travel to Ukraine to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
