In late October 2025—just days after his 18th birthday—Valerii Malyshko was subjected to a search of his home. When he attempted to prevent FSB officers from entering his apartment, he was placed under administrative detention, and shortly thereafter, he was charged in a criminal case. Malyshko was accused of transferring cryptocurrency funds to the Ukrainian military unit "Azov," as well as to an unnamed individual included on Rosfinmonitoring’s list of "extremists and terrorists." The court sentenced him to 9 years on charges of high treason and financing terrorism.
