Oleksii Pleshyvtsev is a citizen of Ukraine and a soldier in the Azov Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was reportedly taken prisoner in Mariupol on 18 May 2022.
In July 2026, he was found guilty under the article on participation in a terrorist community. The court sentenced him to six years' imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony.
According to the prosecution, in February 2022 he 'voluntarily joined the Azov Special Purpose Detachment, which is banned in the territory of the Russian Federation. From February to May 2022, he took part in combat operations in the territory of the Donetsk region.'
