Dmytro Mykolaiovych Samchenko was born on April 1, 1997. He is a citizen of Ukraine and served in the separate special-purpose unit "Azov" as a rifleman and assistant machine gunner, holding the rank of junior sergeant.
On December 3, 2024, he was sentenced under Part 2 of Article 205.4 ("Participation in a terrorist organization") and Article 205.3 ("Undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities") of the Russian Criminal Code to 18 years and 6 months in a high-security penal colony. He was captured in May 2022.
On July 4, 2025, he was released as part of a prisoner exchange.
