Vladimir Sorokin was born on 17 July 1959, is a resident of Kaliningrad, a lawyer, and a member of the bureau of the Yabloko party in Kaliningrad. On 4 June 2026, under Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘Financing extremist activity’), he was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment for transferring 500 rubles to Aleksei Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation. During the investigation and trial, he was under a ban on certain actions. He was taken into custody after the verdict was announced.
